"Treat all living things as you wish to be treated."Peace Circle®

At Peace Circle®, our understanding of peace is planetary — it embraces both people and the natural environment. This holistic view guides our work to nurture respect, care, and justice for all life on Earth.

I have long reflected on why the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) often feel disconnected — like beautiful icons or stamps applied superficially to projects and initiatives, rather than deeply integrated into everyday lives. While the UN has published numerous declarations and reports, the real challenge remains: why do these goals truly matter to us as individuals and communities? Too often, SDGs risk becoming symbolic badges — nice to display, but lacking in genuine impact and meaningful connection to people’s values and actions at the local level.

Peace Circle® offers a unique solution by bringing the SDGs to life through a simple, yet profound framework: Heart, Head, and Hands.

  • Heart: Hope, love, and justice — the core values that inspire us to care for all living beings.

  • Head: Knowledge, wisdom, science, and evidence-based decision-making — enabling us to understand challenges deeply and plan sustainable solutions.

  • Hands: Concrete actions — planting trees, nurturing communities, and fostering peace.

This framework transforms abstract goals into tangible, local actions that build resilient, inclusive communities. For example, in my town, Peace Circle® helped create a shared garden that boosted biodiversity and strengthened neighborhood ties by bringing together local associations and people of all ages. Trees planted through Peace Circle® directly support SDG 15: Life on Land by enhancing biodiversity, while the community care nurtured by Peace Circle® aligns with SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, fostering healthier, greener urban environments.

The Peace Circle® model encourages communities to create compact green spaces where nature and people meet, supporting biodiversity, climate action, education, and intercultural dialogue. It is a living example of how global goals can take root and flourish in everyday life.

As Peace Circle® grows globally, its digital platform — the Digital Twin — offers a virtual space to explore these values and deepen understanding, connecting people across continents.

Together, through values-driven action, we can turn the Sustainable Development Goals from distant ambitions into lived realities — growing peace, one circle at a time.
