Peace Circle® is a unique Finnish-born social innovation. It is, to our knowledge, the first initiative that fully integrates nature, technology, and value-based learning into a single, actionable model for peacebuilding and advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By combining physical green spaces, AI-driven reflection tools, and community-centered action, the Peace Circle redefines how we grow peace — locally and globally.

The Power of Values in Action

At the heart of the Peace Circle model lies a powerful principle: values must be made visible through action. This is not merely a call for ethical reflection, but a concrete pedagogical approach. The model is structured around three interlinked dimensions:

• Heart: values such as compassion, hope, and justice

• Head: wisdom, knowledge, and critical thinking

• Hands: active protection of life, practical actions for ecological and social balance, and the flourishing of diversity

These values are not taught in abstraction. They are practiced through daily actions, shared with the community, and anchored in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each act of peace—whether it supports empathy, education, or ecological care—is linked to one or more SDGs, building a direct bridge between local transformation and global progress.

Through these everyday actions for both people and the planet, the Peace Circle® model extends its influence across nearly all of the SDGs, making visible the holistic, integrated nature of Agenda 2030. It brings the spirit of global cooperation into the hands of citizens—starting with children and schools.

AI for Peace and the Planet

Unlike traditional post-conflict peacebuilding, Peace Circle expands the scope of peace to include social and ecological well-being—and it does so with the help of artificial intelligence. A multilingual mobile application under development will guide users—especially young people—in reflecting on their actions, connecting them to global goals, and encouraging community participation.

An AI assistant, PeaceBot, offers personalized feedback, prompts for reflection, and helps visualize cumulative impact. In this model, AI is not about optimization but about empathy. It supports learning, ethical growth, and collective reflection—helping users make meaningful connections between values, actions, and outcomes.

Physical Practice: Peace in Action

Peace Circle® is not only a digital or conceptual model—it is lived and practiced in real spaces. In schools and communities, the model includes simple yet powerful physical exercises: forming a human Peace Circle outdoors, planting trees, or collectively building symbolic peace parks. These embodied actions root values like compassion, justice, and ecological balance in shared experience, encouraging group reflection and a common sense of purpose.

The physical Peace Circle becomes a living classroom, where the mind, heart, and hands come together in an environment that supports awareness, responsibility, and cooperation.

Peace Circle as an Outdoor Learning Space

The Peace Circle is a symbolic yet functional outdoor classroom. At its heart stands the Peace Tree, from which radiate three value lines—Heart, Head, and Hands—each representing a core aspect of holistic learning. Surrounding the circle is the Circle of Guardians, a ring of ten trees, each dedicated to peacebuilders and environmental heroes—local and global—including one tree for the "Everyday Hero." This pedagogical element honors role models and invites reflection.

Encircling the site is the Meadow of Life, a biodiverse wildflower zone that supports pollinators and ecological awareness. Altogether, the Peace Circle becomes a multisensory space for action, learning, and connection—where nature, community, and values meet.

In this way, peace includes harmony with the Earth. The integration of ecological stewardship into peace education makes the Peace Circle a truly interdisciplinary model—where sustainability and empathy grow side by side.

Nature and Technology: Building Unity, Not Division

In Peace Circle’s vision, nature and technology are allies. They support each other in fostering awareness, healing, and cross-cultural dialogue. AI helps reflect and visualize values. Digital Twins offer virtual access to Peace Circles worldwide. And nature grounds it all—inviting presence, care, and rootedness.

Peace Circle is inherently scalable and adaptable. It is now at the beginning of its pilot phase, with initial implementations starting in Finland and Italy. New Peace Circle parks are also being established across all continents. We are initiating a truly global pilot—and actively seeking supporters and partners to help bring this vision to life.
