How long will we stand by as peace, nature, and communities crumble? Peace Circle® invites us to build change – beginning with experience and growing into action.
This post is for anyone looking for new ways to foster peace, sustainability, and community – whether you are a teacher, educator, community leader, or simply someone who believes in the possibility of change. At the end, I also offer a tool to help you reflect on your own role in relation to these themes.
Peace Circle® – Three Spaces for Experiential Learning
Peace Circle® is a learning model and park concept that unites nature, community, and the values of peace into a holistic experience.Peace Circle World is an international network building physical Peace Circle parks across the globe according to the shared model. Together, they create spaces where heart, mind, and hands grow toward a sustainable and peaceful future.
Three Complementary Learning Spaces
Learning through Peace Circle® takes place across three interconnected spaces, forming a path from embodied experience to deeper understanding and shared growth.

1. Physical Peace Circle Park
The physical park offers a sensory and embodied experience at the heart of nature and peace values.Learning begins with place-based engagement, where nature, community, and values are encountered directly. Visitors are introduced to key elements such as the Peace Tree, the ABC for Peace paths, and the Circle of Guardians.

2. Digital Twin Learning Environment
After the visit, learners return virtually to familiar landscapes through an immersive 360° experience. The Digital Twin strengthens the memory trace of the physical visit and deepens understanding of the symbols and values embedded in the space.Learners can explore the trees and landmarks more closely, uncover the stories behind them, and reflect on how peace and sustainability values connect to their own lives. Multilingual, level-appropriate questions offer reflection opportunities for both children and adults.
3. Classroom Learning
In the classroom, experiences and insights are processed through dialogue and reflection.Learners build shared meanings and connect what they have learned to their everyday lives – in school, at home, and in their communities. The Peace Circle® model can also be implemented independently in the classroom through exercises, storytelling activities, and reflection circles, even without access to a physical park or the Digital Twin.
Pedagogical Foundations
The Peace Circle® learning model is rooted in the principles of experiential learning, social constructivism, and place-based education.Learning happens in authentic environments, through shared meaning-making and personal exploration of values. The model also emphasizes culturally responsive teaching: every learner is approached from their unique background, and every community contributes its voice to the building of peace.
Experience, Deepen, Share
The Peace Circle® learning model follows a natural progression: Experience → Deepen → Share
Learning starts with embodied and sensory engagement (in the park), deepens through digital immersion (in the Digital Twin), and culminates in shared reflection and application (in the classroom).Through this, heart, mind, and hands grow together toward a sustainable and peaceful future.
Invitation to Join
Peace Circle® is more than a learning model – it is an invitation to become a builder of peace, sustainability, and community.Begin by pausing to explore your own relationship with experience, understanding, and action.
The self-assessment helps you recognize your strengths and discover new opportunities for growth – without comparison to others.
